Presented by the Spanish Consulate in Melbourne
Consuelo, a survivor of domestic violence, waits at a station for the arrival of a train that will take her to a new life. As she waits she thinks of her friend Celia, a young woman she met in the Women’s Refuge. This film adaptation of a Spanish theatrical and flamenco dance production interweaves real testimonials from survivors of domestic violence with dance as it examines issues related to domestic violence. The production’s power is only enhanced by its simplicity - one story, two characters and two dramas. After the screening, join us for a Q&A session with actress/dancer/choreographer Paloma Gómez and writer/director Luis Lorente.
